Candidates who wish to apply for these courses should meet the following prerequisites:
Tool and Die Engineering: (TDE) – German Diploma
- Should have passed SSLC (10th Standard) or equivalent.
- Should be at least 150cm tall, weighing minimum 40 Kgs and having normal eyesight.
- Should not be less than 15 years old and not more than 19 years old as on June of the year of admission.
Course commences on 1st week of July of every year for Tool and Die Engineering.
Precision Machining Technology (PMT) (NCVT Approved)
- Should have passed SSLC (10th Standard) or equivalent.
- Should be at least 150cm tall, weighing minimum 40 Kgs and having normal eyesight.
- Should not be less than 15 years old and not more than 19 years old as on June of the year of admission.
Course commences on 1st week of July of every year for Precision Machining Technology
Mechatronics (MCT) – German Diploma
- Should have passed SSLC/ Matriculation/HSC (12th Std) or equivalent.
- Should be at least 150cm tall, weighing minimum 40 Kgs and having normal eyesight.
- Should not be less than 15 years old and not more than 19 years old as on June of the year of admission.
- Both boys and girls can apply
Course commences on 1st week of July of every year for Mechatronics.
Post Diploma in Tool Design (PDTD)
- Should have passed Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Production/ Industrial / Polymer / Tool and Die Engineering or Precision Machining Technology from a renowned institution with minimum 60% marks aggregate.
- Should not be more than 30 years as on September of the year of admission.
- Both boys and girls can apply.
Course commences in September of every year for PDTD.
Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics & Automation Technology (ADMAT)
- Should have passed Diploma / Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation or equivalent with minimum 60% marks aggregate.
- Should not be more than 30 years as on September of the year of admission.
- Both boys and girls can apply.
Course commences in September of every year for ADMAT
Selection is made based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and performance in the entrance tests conducted by the centre. Enrollment will be done in the order of?merit only.
The number of trainees enrolled for each course will be:
- 48 Trainees for Tool & Die Engineering (one intake per year)
- 40 Trainees for Precision Machining Technology (one intake per year)
- 48 Trainees for Mechatronics (one intake per year)
- 30 Trainees for Post Diploma in Tool Design (one intake per year)
- 10 Trainees for Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics and Automation Technology (one intake per year)
Note:
For PDTD / ADMAT admission, only written tests will be conducted on Engineering subjects followed by personal interview.
The following gives the general pattern of entrance tests:
Phase I:?Written Test of 45 minutes duration each.
- English
- Mathematics
- Science (Physics & Chemistry)
- General Aptitude, Reasoning, Visual Reasoning and Conditional Reasoning
Phase II: Skill Test
Practical test in Mechanical area covers finger dexterity, concentration, neuromuscular co-ordination, etc.
Phase III: Personal Interview
Note: For Diploma & Post Diploma Courses, admission will be made on the basis of entrance examination conducted in GTTI.

Rules and Regulations
A trainee is bound to follow strictly the rules and regulations of the Training Centre in all respects as laid by the Management from time to time. The trainee and his/her parent or guardian will have to give an undertaking to the Training Centre to this effect. (Ref: GTTI/W/8201/8202)
Discipline/Performance
The Training Center will take strict disciplinary action when and where it is found necessary as described in the Rulebook of the Training Centre. This may amount to an oral/written warning, suspension from training center and hostel, debarring from examination and /or semester, or termination from training as the case may warrant.
A trainee will be considered successful only when he achieves a minimum of 50% marks in theory subjects and 60% marks in practical studies in each semester. The total marks awarded shall constitute test and Sessional marks. (40% marks in theory and 60% marks in practical studies for Precision Machining Technology course).
Hours of Training
The maximum training hours per week will be 44 hours and the total training weeks per year will be 48 with holidays and short vacations spread through 4 weeks. Schedule of working hours, rotating shifts, compensatory holiday work, etc shall be fixed by Manager – Training
Holidays / Vacations
A maximum of 12 days holiday & 18 days vacation? may be fixed by the Manager (Training) during each calendar year. Any holiday intervening during the period of medical leave or leave shall be considered lapsed.
If the trainee falls sick, he may be sent to the Doctor and the trainee have to bear the cost. In case of an accident in the workshop or training center premises, claim can be made from the medical insurance for the expense incurred.
Leave
Medical Leave:?Trainees who are not able to attend workshop / classes due to illness (not due to work injuries) may avail leave of absence to a maximum of 13 days in an academic year. Any excess leave availed shall be compensated.
Extra-ordinary Leave:?Trainees may avail extra-ordinary leave of not more than one day per month for urgent personal reasons at the discretion of the Manager (Training) subject to a maximum of 5?days in an academic year.
Bond
All candidates enjoying any fee concession or scholarship through external sponsors shall execute bond as per the respective sponsor’s demand. Scholarships are available from various sponsors subject to certain terms and conditions.
Course Fee / Caution Deposits
Details of Course fees, Caution Deposits and other fees, as applicable, can be obtained from GTTI office on enquiry.
Uniform/Safety Shoe
Uniform and Safety shoe are compulsory for all trainees as per the norms set by the Management.
The training center shall arrange for the stitching of uniforms and purchasing of safety shoe at actual cost at the time of admission.
Hostel
Hostel Facility available for boys for all courses.
The rules in the hostel are very strict and will be followed strictly.
Canteen will be running on ‘Dividing System’ basis. Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian Food may be opted by trainees as per wish. Special order for chicken, eggs and milk will be entertained.
Library and Recreation
A reference library and facilities for recreation are provided for the benefit of the trainees.
TV, DVD, Magazines, Newspapers etc are provided for the welfare and recreation of the trainees. For the personality development of the trainees, Technical Forum, Fine Arts club, English & Mathematics club and Sports Committee are actively functioning.
Location
The training centre has its own campus and is located in the centre of Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu, South India) along Avinashi Road, with easy accessibility from railway station, bus stations and airport.
The Group is already running courses in Automobile Maintenance and Servicing, CAD / CAM, ?EDM / ?Wire EDM and German Language Class in this campus in separate buildings.
Medical Fitness
Admission is subject to medical fitness of candidates conducted by panel, approved by the Management.
Industrial Training
For each trainee, it is necessary to have industrial exposure before the completion of his prescribed course. Hence the Management has planned to conduct the respective industrial training for various courses as follows:
Tool and Die Engineering:?1 year industrial training after 3 years in-house training
Precision Machining Technology:?1 year industrial training after 2 years in-house training
Mechatronics:?1 year industrial training after 3 years in-house training
- Arrangements will be made by the Management for the placement of trainees for their industrial training in their respective fields of study and appropriate stipend will be paid by the concerned industries during the period of training.
- Diploma / Certificates shall be awarded only after the successful completion of industrial training by the trainees.
- There shall be no Industrial Training for Post Diploma Courses.
